Carlin Hofman Obituary
10/6/1941-4/6/2011
Carlin Hofman, born October 6, 1941 in Yuba City, passed away, April 6, 2011, at home in Lincoln, after a short battle with cancer.
A life-long farmer and rancher, he also enjoyed being President of Cal Wool Assoc., past board member of Placer FSA, and Placer Farm Supply, and Placer Cattlemen of the Year.
Carlin will miss and be missed by the family he loved so much, daughter Heidi and sons Ernest, William and John; grandchildren Jesse and Justin Guertin, Tim, Lee, Samantha, and Kaitlyn Hofman; and great-granddaughter Ava Guertin; sister Frances, and many relatives, classmates, and close friends who gave his struggle so much meaning. Our family wants to thank all of you who prayed and cared for Carlin and his wife of 49 years, Barbara, when they needed you most.
Memorial service to be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Stewart Hall, 6005 Camp Far West Rd., Sheridan, CA.

Carlin's passing causes me to give pause, and reflect back on 34 years of a wonderful relationship. I was fortunate enough to be able to be Carlin and Barbara's insurance agent for all of those years. Carlin was a very sharp business person, with a great sense of humor, and a gift of making me feel part of the family (as did Barbara). During our annual insurance reviews he would often give Barbara a "hard time", gently and lovingly needling her. I have always admired both of them for the love they shared with each other, and their family. My admiration carried over into the resilience and fortitude they exemplified in the way they conducted their business and personal lives.
While Carlin may be physically absent, I will never forget the man and the difference he made in my life. It was an honor to have known him.
My most sincere regrets to Barbara, "the boys", Heidi, and the rest of the family, for their great loss.
