Clyde Caietti Obituary

Clyde Paul Caietti "Bubba"
01/22/32 - 02/14/14

Passed away peacefully February 14, 2014 with his family at his bedside at the age of 82 after a long and valiant fight with Parkinson's. Born January 22, 1932 Clyde was a lifelong resident and native of the Sacramento area. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 49 years, Dorothy and is survived by his son Christopher (Naomi), daughter Casey (Coral), and granddaughter's Gabriella and Kailani. He is also survived by his brother Robert, sister Jeannie Buchanan (Buck), sister in law Jeanette and numerous nieces and nephews. Clyde was also predeceased by his parents Pete and Jennie and brothers Pete Jr. and William.
Clyde graduated from Sacramento High School in 1951, where he was a star offensive lineman for the top rated Sacramento High School football team. Clyde served his country in the United States Navy as a Chief Petty Officer during the Korean War and spent time as a custom home builder in Lake Tahoe as well as a banking officer for Sacramento Savings before serving over 30 years as a Special Investigator for the Department of Motor Vehicles. Clyde enjoyed playing golf at Cameron Park Country Club and traveling with his beloved wife Dorothy, family and friends, and had seen most of the world. Clyde and Dorothy were founding members of the "M Club" where lifelong friendships were formed.
Clyde was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to all. Always the teacher, he had an impact on all of the lives that he touched. He dreamed of playing college football at St. Mary's College in Moraga and received a full ride scholarship. Unfortunately, his dream was cut short when St. Mary's cut their football program in 1951. The school made amends by making Clyde the honorary football captain for the 2002 season and held a special game in his honor that inspired the young men who played for the Gaels, and created an unforgettable memory for Clyde and his family. Undaunted by setbacks, Clyde achieved a rare level of success by realizing his ultimate dream of raising his own family. Clyde never complained, shied away from the limelight, and beamed with pride watching his children and grandchildren achieve and grow. Clyde was a dedicated and loyal husband to the love of his life, Dorothy, for 49 years and now goes to be with her for eternity.
Family and friends are invited to attend Memorial Services on February 28, 2014, 11:00 a.m. at Green Valley Mortuary, 610 Coloma St. Folsom, Calif. (916) 985-8844. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the National Parkinson Foundation (www.parkinson.org)

To my Uncle who I always looked up to and admired, may you bask in God's glory and renew your unabiding love with Aunt Dorothy in heaven. I know you'll watch over all of your family and the pinochle table in heaven will be crowded with all of the Caiettis crowding around. You will be missed. Love Sandi Caietti Gregoire.
