Tim Neep Obituary

Celebrating the Life of
Tim Neep
8/3/1965 - 4/13/2025
In Loving Memory
Forever in Our Hearts

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Tim Neep, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and proud unionist, who passed away unexpectedly on April 13, 2025, in Grass Valley, California. He was 59 years old.
Born on August 3, 1965, in Amsterdam, Holland, Tim came to the United States as an infant and was raised in Auburn, California-a town he was proud to call home for the rest of his life. Tim was known for his determination, discipline, and drive. As an accomplished swimmer, he earned a place on the 1980 USA Olympic Swim Team. Although the U.S. boycott of the Moscow Olympics prevented him from competing, the achievement remained a symbol of his extraordinary talent and work ethic.
Tim joined Operating Engineers Local 3 in July 1990 and began serving on staff in 2004. Throughout his years with OE3, Tim worked in numerous leadership positions, including Business Agent, Director of the Unit 12 Crafts and Maintenance Division, and most recently, as Public Employees Director. He was deeply committed to the union's mission of improving the lives of working families and advocating for their rights.
Above all, Tim's heart belonged to his family. He cherished spending time with them and caring for his lovely yard. He is survived by his loving wife, Andrea Neep; his seven children-Dakota, Danielle, Moriah, Nick, Ariana, Vanessa, and Andrew; and his nine cherished grandchildren. Nothing made him prouder than watching his family come together, support one another, and grow stronger-especially during the most difficult times. It brought him peace knowing that his legacy would continue through the unity and love of his family.
Tim will also be remembered for his humor, generous spirit, and the way he lit up any room he walked into. His laughter, wisdom, and loyalty will be missed more than words can express. Those who knew him-family, friends, and colleagues alike-will carry forward the impact he made on their lives.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at 11:00 AM Gold Country Church 3885 Richardson Drive, Auburn, CA 95602
Tim Neep's life was a testament to dedication, service, and love. His legacy will live on through every life he touched-and he will be forever missed.

I knew Tim through work. I was with the Department of Corrections and he was with OE3. It was an honor to work with him and know him. His sense of humor and dedication to his job made our jobs more fun. His family was the most important to him and was so proud of them. Very sorry for your loss, Tim will be deeply missed.

Tim was thee GREATEST boss that I ever worked with. It was such an honor to have been in his presence. He brought so much light into our department, and it was never a dull moment with him. Tim, definitely won at life because of how much positivity, kindness, great morality and joy he brought every day. Tim had a young soul and will forever be celebrated as the GREAT MAN he is.

Dear Family, I was one of Tim's pastor's at Calvary Chapel Auburn back in the day. He was always such a kind, generous and uplifting man. I will always remember him as a man who stood above others in his personal character. I loved him much. My prayers are with you all today as you come together to say good-bye (for now). Psalm 16:11

Tim was the best stepfather a girl could ask for. He would always give up his side of the bed so I could sleep with my mom Andrea like we used to before Tim came into our lives. Tim & my mom´s relationship was a wonderful role model of what love is. His loyalty was unwavering in his devotion to my family was inspiring. I am going to miss him until I pass one day and get to see him again.
