Fran, it has been a month today. I pick up the phone at night to check on you still. I miss your little voice, your sweet nature. You left a void in my life. I am sure pop is glad to see you, he has been waiting awhile. I will not say with sadness that you left me behind, but with gratitude that you were part of my life. Until we meet again......love you Retta

To my mother, I do write
This little poem of sweet delight
She was sunshine in my live
I was glad to know her

To my life she did bring
Joy, kindness and devotion
I will remember with great love
Her tender spirit, now up above

We will meet again someday
Inside of heavens gate
There will be no parting then
I will not be late

A TRIBUTE TO FRANCES JUNE DELISLE
By Tom Weeden

THE TIME HAS COME FOR YOUR DEPARTURE
I WISH YOU DIDN’T HAVE TO LEAVE
WE ALL ARE BROKEN-HEARTED
BUT YOU’RE WITH YOUR SPOUSE NOE

YOU GAVE US LOVE AND KINDNESS
THAT SHOWED OTHERS WHAT TO GAIN
IF ANYONE WOULD WRONG YOU
YOU NEVER WOULD COMPLAIN

YOU WERE THE HUB OF OUR FAMILY
KEPT IN CONTACT WITH US ALL
BUT NOW THAT YOU HAVE LEFT US
I DON’T KNOW WHO TO CALL

BUT IN SPITE OF OUR EFFORTS
TO KEEP YOU SAFE AND SOUND
GOD HAD A PRIOR COMMITMENT
AND HE WANTS TO KEEP YOU NOW

YOU’VE HAD A LONG HARD STRUGGLE
NOW IT’S TIME FOR YOU TO REST
ENJOY GOD’S LOVE IN HEAVEN
I KNOW IT’S FOR THE BEST

WE TRIED TO KEEP YOU HERE
BUT YOU LEFT US ANYWAY
WE KNOW IT’S FOR THE BETTER
SO WE SAY GOODBYE TODAY

Mom,
We will all miss you, and although many of us are feeling sorrow today I know you are no longer suffering and very happy now.

You seem so frail
In the clothes of the night
When the armies of emotion go out to fight
But while the earth sinks to its grave
You sail to the sky on the crest of a wave
And if one day, you should see me in the crowd
Lend a hand and lift me to your place in the clouds
~ Nick Drake, "Cello Song"
Frances, you are part of me as long as I'll live.

You fought a long battle, it's now time to rest. I'll miss your smile, your sqeaky little voice, but most of all I'll miss your love and our times together.
