November 25, 2006, was a very heartbreaking day for the family and friends of Frank Machado who died at his Applegate home. It is with a deep loving kindness that we shall ever hold his light in our hearts as his soul soars high above the mountain tops. He will be remembered for his undying courage and bravery, his compassion for others, his relentless love for his family and friends. He lived knowing that the greatest thing you have to give is yourself.
He leaves behind a loving family, his wife of 32 years, Margie Machado, sons; Benjamen F. Machado and Morgan Reed Machado, daughter-in-law, Jenna Christine Machado, mother Helen Wood, sisters; Gail Swisher and Carol Allmon, Mother-in-laws; Phyllis C. Vieira and Donna Walters, Roland Vieira and Ralph E. Walters, brothers-in-laws; William F. Walters, Rodney E. Walters, George E. Walters II, Clay Allmon and Russell Greathouse, Ronnie Vieira and Jeff Vieira, sisters-in-laws; Eileen C. Walters, Lenore Wong and Susan Greathouse, nephews; John Daniel Walters II, Aaron W. Walters, Brian D. Walters, Cory Allmon, Butch Allmon and Jon Tuscher, niece Holly Greathouse, and special friends; Phillip and Doris Smith, Donna Kofod and Blaine Bell.
He owned and operated A. Frank Machado Drywall Construction Company in Applegate offering pride of workmanship and dedicated services to businesses and residents in the surroundings foothill communities.
Frank and his family moved to Applegate, CA in 1988 from Fresno, CA where he grew up and attended Bullard High School. He worked as a drywall taper in Fresno since the age of twenty-three. He was an avid golfer at Black Oak Golf Course. Frank and his son Ben were volunteer fire fighters with Placer Hills Fire Department from 1994 - 1999 and received the Officers' Award for Outstanding Service as father and son on April 12, 1996.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 2, at 2 P.M. at Lassila Funeral Chapel, 551 Grass Valley Highway in Auburn, CA. Donations can be made to the Placer Hills Fire Department or to the Placer County Sheriff's Department. Family and friends are invited to share memories and sign an online guest book at www.LassilaFuneralChapels.com.

I only met Frank and Margie on a couple of occasions. I was very impressed with Frank's selflessness. In the 80s my mother Anna Wood asked Frank to come to her home in Fresno and assess a serious drywall disaster in her bathrooms resulting from water damage. Frank came in and repaired the damaged drywall and then refused to take any payment from mom. He was good man and I would have liked to have known him better. Sympathy and much love to Margie, Helen, Carol, Gail and the rest of the family.

To Marjorie and family, I wanted to share my deepest condolences for you. Frank was a great guy and will be missed. Although he came across gruff and perhaps a little stubborn, deep down I know he was just having fun. I enjoyed having him as a client and working with him over the years. He will be on my mind when I'm out at Black Oak golf course, a place I know he enjoyed very much.

To all of the Machado family, I send my heart felt sympathy. The last time I saw you was in Fresno at Me-n-Eds with my dad, Bob Wood. The boys were very little. May God be with you during this time.
Sincerely, The Linda Wood-Moon fam.
