Patrick McKenna

Gerard "Gerry" Patrick McKenna, devoted husband to Patricia McKenna, passed away on March 4, 2014 at the young age of 59 in Auburn, Calif. He was born on October 6, 1954 in New York to the late Patrick and Margaret McKenna. He graduated from Saint Francis Prep and attended St. John's University. He moved to Redondo Beach, Calif. and was united in marriage to Patricia McKenna on June 6, 1982. His occupations included playing trumpet in a R&B band, bartender and software engineer. To be close to family they moved to Foresthill, Calif. in 2008. Gerry enjoyed celebrating his Irish heritage. Wood working, playing pool and attending Dodgers games were a few of his favorite hobbies. He enjoyed traveling to places such as Ireland, Australia, and Hawaii. He was a devoted dog lover. Gerry is survived by his wife, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Margaret. A private celebration for his life will be held for immediate family and friends.

Dear Pat,
I have just posted a card but then received the link to this website from Carolynn Lewis. Liam and I, and our son Oliver, were so very sorry to hear of Gerard's passing, and send you and your family our deepest sympathy. Gerard was such a nice person.

Pat,
I am Gerard's cousin, daughter of his Aunt Delia (his mother Peg's sister). I moved to NC 2 1/2 yrs ago and we lost contact. Sadly, I learned of Gerard's passing from my Aunt Slyvia (wife of Gerard's uncle Liam in England), whom your son contacted. I am so sorry for your loss and also that all these yrs passed and we did not see each other and I did not have a chance to meet you. My deepest sympathy to you and all your family.
