Janice was born on August 14, 1923 in San Jose, California; and died on June 1, 2015 in Applegate, California. She was the youngest of Charles and Lena Belle Meredith's seven children. Janice graduated from middle school on June 16, 1938 in San Jose, and graduated from Placer High in June of 1942. In 1951 Janice married Robert Douglas Sutherland Jr. They lived together with their five children in the Auburn area until the death of her husband. After the loss of her husband, Janice spent much of her time traveling to places like the Caribbean, Mexico, Alaska, and to West Port, Washington, where she loved to be near the ocean. Janice lived to see the birth of three great-great grandchildren, the marriages of numerous great grand children, and her gifts and knowledge benefit all five generations of her family. She is survived by her sons Richard, Robert, Donald, William Sutherland, and two daughters Lori Lundt and Elizabeth Brown, as well as 19 grandchildren, 14 great grand children, and 3 great-great grand children.
Janice will be lovingly remembered in our hearts forever, for her loving generosity and kind heart.
