Josephine Buchanan passed away peacefully on Monday, November 8, 2010 .
Josephine Beatrice Becker was born November 21, 1911 in Pasadena, California to John and Gipsy Becker. She attended Pasadena Junior College where she met Patrick Henry Buchanan. They married on March 27 1937. The Buchanan's raised their three children, Dana, Patty, and Dale in Meadow Vista, California.
Josephine was a member of the Bethany Chapter of the Eastern Star in Colfax, California since 1957. She was also a long time member of the Meadow Vista Grange.
In 1976 Josephine retired after 25 years of service as administrative secretary for the Placer County Health Department.
She is preceded in death by her beloved Pat to whom she was married for over 50 years. She is survived by son Dana (Mariluz) Buchanan, daughter Patricia (Paul) Maple and son Dale (Lynn) Buchanan. Grandchildren include Chris, Bryan, Matt, Kelly, and Heather as well as eight great-grandchildren.
There will be no services.

Psalm 90:10 states, "In themselves the days of our years are seventy years, And if because of special mightiness they are eighty years..." Ms. Buchanan lived a long life. Yet, living a long life does not alleviate the sorrow that death brings. May Heavenly Father give the family members and friends the strength needed, the peace desired, and the love that only Heavenly Father can give during this time of bereavement.

Take comfort in the many memories you all must have of her. She had a long and fruitful life and she successfully raised 3 wonderful children. No easy task.
