Matthew Steele Obituary
10/5/1992 - 1/16/2013
Matt was born in Auburn and spent his whole life here. He graduated from Placer High School in 2010. He loved his family, the Giants, music, playing his guitar, and playing baseball.
He is survived by: his mom, Lisa Steele, younger sister, Elana, his father, Daniel Halford, grandmas, grandpas, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He had many, many friends who loved him. He was preceded in death by his step-dad Eric Steele IV.
Matt had an infectious smile and was taken from us too soon. He will be greatly missed. He was our sunshine.
A memorial fund has been set up at the Golden 1 Credit Union in Matt's name "Matt Steel Memorial Fund" account # 1490925.
Services will be held at the Lassila Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be on Thursday January 24, 2013 from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday January 25, 2013 at 11 a.m. with burial at the Auburn New Cemetery at 1 p.m.

I was thinking of you today. I lost Molly the other day and I just remember how much you freaking LOVED her. You were there when I got her, and you were as obsessed with her as I was haha i hope when she crossed the rainbow bridge, that it was your arms she ran into first. I know you probably missed her.

Lisa, my heartfelt condolences. To have 2 tragic losses in your life in just a couple of years, It seems so hard to bear! The loss of a child is devastating. May the Lord comfort you and give you strength to continue on for your Daughter and Matthew's memory.

Matthew, 3 long years ago, I was a new kid at Placer High. I moved right in the middle of our senior year. I could tell you were a friend right away. You were the life of the class every day, always a bright smile, always a great joke to tell. You could brighten up the darkest days, and that is a gift. What happened to you is so unfair. To have your life taken so young is cruel. I am so sorry Matthew. And my deepest condolences to your family and closest friends. I will see you on the other side my friend, whatever that may be. Ten years ago we were your neighbors up the street, Matthew, and I always enjoyed giving you a ride to EV Cain with my daughter and her friend Nicole. I will never forget your bright smile, and your kind and loving ways. You were always cheerful, thankful and helpful. Your mother must have been very proud of you. Later my son Brandon was on your baseball team ... and the years went by. We lost track of you. Most recently you worked with Brandon once again at KFC. Cheryl, Brandon and I were completely heartbroken to hear of your passing. Like all of those you came to know, we are deeply saddened that we will not see you again on this earth. I am absolutely positive though that we will meet again in heaven. Until then, may Jesus bless and hold you tight, Matthew!

Dearest Matthew I can remember when you and Alex (my son) used to hang out together you were inseperable for quite some time. Your smile was infectious and you were always laughing and joking. I can't believe your wonderful life has been cut short so senselessly. Lisa I used talk to you on the phone whenever Matt would come over because you wanted to keep your son safe and make sure he was in good hands when he left the house.I am so sorry for your loss I can only imagine the pain and sorrow you and your family are going thru and I pray for you all.
