Michael Joseph Tomczak was born in Bay City, Michigan on March 18, 1955 to Fred and Louise Tomczak. He graduated from All Saints Central in 1973 and from Western Michigan University in 1979. He moved to San Francisco in 1992, married Denise in 1984, moved to Stockton in 1985 and Lake of the Pines in 1995, where they raised their sons, Eric and Curt. He passed away on December 4, 2016 due to complications from Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.
Mike had a successful career as a CPA, working in public accounting, private industry and self employment during which time he enjoyed extensive US and world-wide travel.
Those who knew Mike knew of his strong leadership skills, positive attitude, sharp mind, sense of humor and dedication to his family. He was an avid baseball fan and was proud to coach his sons' teams and serve as President of Bear River Little League for several years. Mike enjoyed cooking, hiking, and recreational travel which included being a full-time RV dweller during the last four years of his life.
Mike is predeceased by his parents, Fred and Louise Tomczak and his brother Fritz Tomczak and survived by his sister, Christine Kowalski of Austin Tex., wife Denise, and sons Eric (wife Claudia) and Curt (wife Sarah) Tomczak.
Memorial service at Sierra Pines United Methodist Church on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent in Mike Tomczak's honor to:
