Adele Myra Swartz

AMHERST - Adele Myra Swartz (nee: Pesek), 85, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011 at New Life Hospice Center following a lengthy illness. She was born Oct. 30, 1926 in Parma, Ohio. Adele was raised in Parma and graduated from Parma High School in the class of 1945. She had made her home in Amherst since 1963. Adele was a loving homemaker and was also employed as a part-time teacher's aide at Amherst schools where she was active in the Athletic Booster Club. She volunteered during election time working at the polls. Adele was a member of St. Peter United Church of Christ in Amherst where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Altar Guild. Survivors include her sons, Jesse F. 'Doc' Swartz IV and his wife, Jane, of Medina, John D. Swartz, of Amherst, James M. Swartz and his wife, Margaret, of Auburn; her daughters, Janesy Gravelin and her husband, David, of Port Charlotte, Fla., Judith Henderson, of Cincinnati; her 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her brother and his wife, John D. and Harriet Pesek, of Mancelona, Mich.; and sister-in-law, Lillian Pesek, of Parma Heights. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Jesse F. Swartz III; her brother, Myron R. Pesek Jr.; and by her parents, Myron R. and Adele Pesek (nee: Dieterich). Services were held privately by the family. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
