McKEES ROCKS, Pa. | Anita Anne Terranova , 92, of Chartiers Manor, McKees Rocks, Pa., passed away peacefully March 18, 2014.
Prior to residing in McKees Rocks, she had resided in Pittsburgh, Pa. for over 20 years. She was born in Auburn, a daughter of the late Basile and Domenica (Mamie) Terranova. As a young woman, she left Auburn to follow her dream of traveling the world - and that she did.
As an employee of the federal government, she held several civil service positions to include working for the Library of Congress and the International Monetary fund. During this time she resided in the D.C. area and also Europe and Asia. While abroad, she was able to travel extensively throughout Europe and parts of Asia, fulfilling her dream.
Her second love was writing. She wrote several short stories and at age 87 published her novel "Echoes of the Past."
In addition to her parents, Anita was pre-deceased by her brothers, Salvatore (Rose) Terranova, of Huntington Beach, Calif., John (Valia) Terranova, Auburn; sisters, Flora (Henry) Colangelo, of Rock Hill, S.C., Angie (Bart) Piccolo, Rose (James) Mamuscia, Carmel (Jerry) Mc Carthy, all of Auburn; two nephews, Michael Piccolo, Auburn, and Don (Ann) Colangelo, Tega Cay, S.C.
She is survived by a sister, Lucy (Paul) Webster, Tafton, Pa.; nieces/nephews, Lorie (Robert) Nightingale, Auburn, David (Maxine) Mamuscia, The Villages, Fla., Anthony (Joanne) Piccolo, Dennis (Karen) Piccolo, Dennis (MaryAnn) Mc Carthy, all of Auburn, Jerry Mc Carthy, Harrisburg, Pa., Cindy (Ray) McClain, Syracuse, Judy (Joe) Indelicato, Clifton Park, Ron Terranova, Huntington Beach, Calif., Monica Gleason, Patti (Vince) Montecalvo, both of Beaverton, Ore., Mary Lou (Arthur) Ambrose, Tafton, Pa., Lynne (Joseph) Debruno, Philadelphia, Pa., Diane (Terry) O'Callaghan, Narooma, Australia; many great- and great-great-nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends and family are invited to join the family at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 29, for Anita's services at 10:30 a.m. at Farrell's Funeral Service, Inc., 84 South St., Auburn.
The omission of flowers is requested, with memorials remembered to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, TN, Anita's favorite charity.
