Barbara Smith Obituary

PORT BYRON | Barbara E. Smith, of Pine Street, Port Byron, passed away Monday, June 18, 2012, at her home. Barbara was born in Worcester, Mass., the daughter of William and Evelyn Giroux Panneton. She was a 28-year member of the John Cool American Legion Post Auxiliary. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Snow parish. When her children were younger, they spent vacations on the Massachusetts shore. She loved her family and grandchildren dearly. She is survived by her husband, Gerald F. Smith Sr., and their 60th anniversary would have been on June 28 of this year; children, Virginia Ware, of Elbridge, Pamela (Dick Heintz) Smith, of Auburn, Gerald F. Smith Jr., of Camden, and Cynthia (Gene) Miller, of Seneca Falls; sister, Virginia Hemming; a brother, William Panneton Jr., both of Orlando, Fla.; grandchildren, Jeannine Powers, Denise Ware, Timothy Bunn and Amy Jennings; great-grandchildren, Randy David, Marcus Lockhart, Emily Jennings, Olivia Jennings and Lucas Powers. She was predeceased by a daughter, Jacqueline Smith on Nov. 6, 1990; and two sisters, Patricia Bousquet and Linda Jones. Friends are invited to call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 22, at the Audioun Funeral Home LLC, 218 Main St., Port Byron. (Please note change of time.) Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday , June 23, from the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may go to Port Byron Ambulance Fund, PO Box 367, Port Byron, NY 13140.
