Baxter Fritz Obituary

AUBURN - Baxter Stenard Fritz, 12, beloved son of Steven J. and Patricia Stenard Fritz, passed unexpectedly from a sudden onset of an illness Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011, in Auburn Memorial Hospital. Baxter was born January 7, 1999, at Community General Hospital in Syracuse. He has entered into eternal life, where he shall shine through the darkest nights and life's worst sorrows. In addition to his parents, Baxter is survived by a brother, Paxton Stenard Fritz, of Auburn; aunts, Donna M. and Karen L. Stenard, of Auburn; grandmother, Amelia Fritz, of Weedsport; as well as numerous family members in the area. Baxter was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Sgt. Donald W. Stenard, Auburn Police Department, and his wife, Susan F. Stenard, and paternal grandfather John A. Fritz. Baxter's time on this earth may have been short, but the sweetness of his spirit and his loving heart will continue to warm and comfort anyone whose life was touched by him, through the coldest days. Known for his generous and thoughtful ways, he will continue to live on in each and everyone that he has left to cherish his memory. Baxter was enrolled in the 7th grade at Auburn Junior High, class of 2017, where he was well known and it was one of his most shining times. He was in the music program and that was where he was himself - 'Free.' His love of reading, thirst for knowledge was never ending. In remembrance of Baxter, who brought such clarity to this chaotic world, look into the eyes of a child for a moment, pause and hear the music. 'Sweet boy, rest in the Lord's arms' - loving you. Private services are to be conducted by the Rev. Louis Vasile and burial will be at the convenience of the family. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, contributions will be accepted on Baxter's behalf in care of his family, Steven J. Fritz and Patricia A. Fritz, 24 Frances St., Auburn, NY 13021. Arrangements are by the Cheche Funeral Home Inc., 1778 Clark Street Road, Auburn. To send a message to the family, sign our guest book at www.auburnpub.com and click on obituaries.

Dear Steve and Family,
We are so deeply saddened-beyond words. Baxter was such a great, kind-hearted child. I looked forward to seeing him each year in the Owasco School Halloween Parade enjoying his creative costumes. As well, was marveled by his Cello playing capabilities-where he seemed so at ease. I know he was an inspiration and Mentor to my Nephew, Nathan Lesch, who followed his gentle lead, on the Cello. You are in our daily thoughts and prayers. God bless Dear Baxter..

Steven, Patricia, Paxton & family; no words can begin to relieve you of the loss of your little angel. God always recommended that we try to emulate the children, as they are his chosen ones. As difficult as it is to try to understand why or how God works in our lives; Baxter is one of God's newest angels. As you all know; God only picks the prettiest of flowers for his garden & Baxter is now up in paradise with God (a place where we all hope to be someday). May God bless you & your family.

I am a better person for having known Baxter. I was fortunate enough to have him as a student in my 6th gr. English class. He had such a kind spirit. I won't forget his love for reading. His favorites were the mystery/ghost stories. He was always respectful not to share all the details if he thought someone might be scared, especially his teacher!:)He was a great friend to "his boys" who will certainly miss his XBOX expertise. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Mrs. Roberts
