Carol Lee Doyle, a beacon of warmth and laughter, passed away at the age of 81 on October 14, 2025 in Syracuse, NY due to complications from a car accident,
Born on November 17, 1943 in Endicott, NY, Carol's presence was a gift to all who knew her, and her spirit was characterized by her kindness, humor, and friendly nature. Throughout her life, Carol dedicated herself as a stay-at-home mom, a vocation she held dear to her heart. She was a cornerstone of love and support for her family. Hew Christian faith was a bedrock upon which she built her life, and she actively participated in church activities in Groton, NY, bringing smiles and comfort to fellow congregants through her service and fellowship. Carol found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her love for reading was only matched by her passion for cooking; both activities she happily shared with her family and friends. Her delicious meals were the centerpiece of countless family gatherings, leaving everyone with fond memories and satisfied appetites.
She leaves behind her adoring family, including her sons, Michael Doyle, David Doyle (and wife Tina), Clifford Doyle (and wife Felicia); her nineteen grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren who will miss her deeply. Each of them will carry forward the values and love she instilled in them. Carol was predeceased by her loving husband Edgar Doyle; her daughter Marguerite Hoffman; her parents Wilma and Michael Miller; and her sisters Patricia and June.
Carol's life was a testament to the enduring power of kindness. Hew funny anecdotes and friendly conversations engaged everyone she met, leaving a legacy of laughter and friendship. She was a cherished member of her community, and her passing marks the end of an era of unconditional love and matriarchal strength. In her remembrance, Carol's family will hold on to the precious memories they shared with her and honor her life by living out the lesions of compassion and cheer she taught through her own example. Carol's family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, October 20, at the Plis Funeral Home, 220 State St. Auburn. A service will follow at 6 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 21 in Throopsville Rural Cemetery.
