AUBURN | Carol L. Murphy, 67, of Auburn, passed away Sunday evening, March 29, 2015 at her Camp Street home with her loving family at her side.
The daughter of the late Robert and Marjorie Brooks Murphy, Carol was born in South Bend, Ind., on Sept. 10, 1947. She was a graduate of Mount Carmel High School and attended Auburn Community College. She began a banking career with The National Bank of Auburn, and continued with Fleet Bank as a manager in both Auburn and Long Island. She also had been employed with Cayuga Counseling as a billing clerk.
Carol was an avid reader, enjoyed shopping, especially on QVC, and Yoga classes. She had a great fondness for her pet dogs.
Surviving Carol are her three sisters, Sharon (David) Arliss, and Linda Murphy, all of Auburn, and Christine (Lincoln) Williams, of Massachusetts; her brother, Thomas (Kelly) Murphy, of Auburn; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at White Chapel Funeral Home, 197 South St., Auburn, with Carol's cousin the Rev. Paul Brennan officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Fleming. Friends are invited to call on the family from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday prior to services at White Chapel.
Contributions in memory of Carol Murphy may be made to Hospice of the Finger Lakes.
