Catherine Heapy Obituary

WEST MILTON, Ohio < Catherine Jane (Ward) Heapy, 68, of West Milton, Ohio, passed away Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007, at her residence after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Wesley Heapy; her parents, Peter and Eileen Ward; two brothers, Peter and Thomas Ward. She is survived by two daughters, Alicia Heapy and her husband, Joseph Kulas, and their daughter, Ella, all of New Haven, Conn., and Jennifer Heapy, her husband, Kelly Otteson, and their children, Molly and Evan, all of Miamisburg, Ohio; and two sisters, Mary Burke, of Buffalo and Sheila and her husband, Neal Dyer, of Arlington, Va. Catherine is also survived by sister-in-law, Elizabeth Heapy, of Clayton, Ohio; and brother-in-law, Glen Heapy, of St. Paul, Minn. Catherine was a loving mother, a devoted grandmother and sister and a caring friend. She was very active in both the Transfiguration and St. John the Baptist Catholic Churches, and she retired from the University of Dayton Irma Bombeck Child Learning Center. A Mass of Christian burial was held Thursday, Aug. 16, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Tipp City, Ohio, with burial in Riverside Cemetery in West Milton, Ohio.
