Clifton L. Mills

AUBURN < Clifton L. Mills, 80, of McDonald Road, Auburn, died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006, in Cortland Hospital. Mr. Mills was born in Port Byron, the son of Stephen and Ruth Biggar Mills. He attended Cornell University. He worked his farm as an agricultural entrepreneur for many years. He was a member of the NYS Farm Bureau, and a member of the Port Byron First United Methodist Church. He was a member and past president of the Port Byron School Board for more than 10 years. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jacqueline Shreve Mills; a son, Ronald (Joan) Mills of Auburn; daughters, April (Tim) Kurtz of Auburn and Dawn Mills of Elbridge; son-in-law, Laurence Waterman of Port Byron; brothers, Loring (Betty) Mills of Stevensville and Wesley Mills of Port Byron; sisters, Carrie (Bart) Dudley of Alamo, Texas, Phoebe Peacock of Oahu, Hawaii, Evalyn Taylor of Auburn; eight grandchildren, Sean, Clifton and Hilary Mills, Brenda and Tyson Hubbard, Heather, December and Zachary Kurtz; two great-grandchildren, Kyle Villano and Trinity McFadden. He was predeceased by a daughter, Linda Mills Waterman. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, from the First United Methodist Church, South Street, Port Byron. Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Port Byron. Friends are invited to call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, from the Audioun Funeral Home, 218 Main St., Port Byron.
