Daniel Michael Mahoney
June 13, 1970 - Feb. 19, 2024
SAVANNAH - Daniel Michael Mahoney, 53, of Savannah, went home to be with Our Lord on Monday morning, February 19, 2024. Dan was surrounded by his loving family, following a very courageous, six-month battle with cancer, which he fought like a true superhero.
Born in Syracuse, June 13, 1970, Dan is the son of Michael and Deborah (Greiner) Mahoney.
In addition to his parents, Dan is survived by his wife of nearly 25 years, Maureen (Taylor) Mahoney; his seven adoring children: Kevin, Patrick, Mairead, Sean, Bryan, Thomas and Joseph; his loving sister, Kelly (Patrick) Conaty; mother and father-in-law, Margaret and Ralph Taylor; brothers-in-law: Dennis (Jennifer) Taylor and Tim (Nicole) Taylor; nieces and nephews: Kennedy, Ronan, Tighe and Fiona Taylor, Sam and Jack Taylor, Kael and Braeden Conaty. Dan is also survived by many wonderful aunts, uncles; his grandma, Helen Greiner; 21 first cousins, and an amazing extended family.
Following East Syracuse-Minoa High School, Dan received his BS degree from Alfred University, and his MBA from West Chester University.
For 23 years, Dan was happily employed as the General Manager, specializing in Ceramic Engineering with Refractory Maintenance in Williamson, NY.
In addition to spending time and traveling with his family and work friends, he enjoyed camping trips with his best friends: Joe, Mike, Bill, AG, Brooks, Brian, and Jak, and had many fun adventures with his cousins and family in their Adirondack haven. Dan was an adventurous, funny, and kind soul who valued his family, his friends, and his faith. He was a devout and active member of the Saint Mary Magdelene Church in Wolcott for 23 years and led his family in prayers nightly. Dan will be greatly missed.
Calling hours for Dan will be conducted Sunday, February 25, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., in the White Chapel Funeral Home, 2719 Erie Dr., Weedsport. Friends are invited to join the family for a Mass of Christian Burial to be offered on Monday at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, Wolcott. Spring burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Cato, will be determined at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Dan to the John Paul II Academy, 6201 Center St., Cayuga, NY 13034 or to Blessed Trinity Church, 43 W. DeZeng St., Clyde, NY 14433.
