AUBURN - David A. Zammett, 52, of Auburn, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Friday, April 8, 2016 at Matthew House. Born in Auburn, he was the son of Richard and Mary Frieda (Daratt) Zammett. David attended Auburn High School and retired from McQuay after 25 years of employment as a group leader and machinist. He later was employed with Walmart until his illness. He enjoyed fishing, camping, music of all kinds, and cooking. He was a loving and considerate son, father, brother, and uncle who will be missed by many.
He is survived by his parents, Richard and Mary Frieda Zammett; his daughters, Laura (Nick) Crumb and Dionne Zammett (Tim Rathbun), and by their mother, Danyelle Coe; brothers and sisters, Michael (Marybeth) Zammett, Timothy (Vanessa) Zammett, Patricia Zammett, Susan (Ken) Sargent, and Catherine (Sam) Cuipylo; three grandchildren, Kyerstein Zammett, and Tymothy and Klayton Rathbun, and by several nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 15 in St. Alphonsus Church.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make contributions to the Hospice of the Finger Lakes or to Matthew House in David's memory.
