COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -Edward A. "Eddie" Fisher, a sports and entertainment writer for The Columbus Dispatch for 31 years, died Thursday of heart disease. He was 82.
Fisher joined the newspaper as a sports writer in 1954 and covered minor league baseball and high school sports for much of his career. He also was the newspaper's entertainment editor for six years.
After retiring in 1985, he moved to Las Vegas. He returned to the Columbus area in 1998.
Survivors include his brother and three sisters.
