Geraldine Reynolds Obituary

KING FERRY < Geraldine "Gerry" Flynn Reynolds, 87, of King Ferry, died Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at Auburn Memorial Hospital in Auburn. Mrs. Reynolds was born Feb. 21, 1922, to the late Harry J. and Elizabeth A. Lyons Flynn, and resided in the King Ferry area for most of her life. She worked as the bookkeeper of C.S. Reynolds Excavating alongside her late husband, Carroll S. "C.S." Reynolds, who passed away on May 4, 2003, and as a home health aide for the Cayuga County Health Department. She was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society at Our Lady of the Lake Church in King Ferry, and was active in the Poplar Ridge Fire Department Instant Aid. In addition, she was an avid bowler at the King Ferry Bowling Center for many years. She loved to spend her winters in Florida playing golf and playing cards, but mostly loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. Surviving her are two sons, Maurice Reynolds and Nancy Stoneburg, of King Ferry, and David W. Reynolds and his wife Gail, of Aurora; one daughter, Marian C. Willis and her husband Pat, of Thompson Falls, Mont.; seven grandchildren, Natalie Gennett, Travis Reynolds, Luke Reynolds, Jeremy Reynolds, Nick Reynolds, Chad Willis and Chris Willis; three great-grandchildren, Loreli and Cleo Gennett and William Reynolds. In addition to her husband, her sister, Catherine Abbott; and one brother, William Flynn, predeceased Mrs. Reynolds. There will be no calling hours. A funeral service will be held at a later date at the Shakelton Funeral Home, 418 Main St., Aurora. Interment will be in Ridgeway Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Good Shepherd Catholic Community, Aurora, NY 13026, in memory of Geraldine Flynn Reynolds. Our prayers and thoughts are with you at this time. Sorry for the loss of your mother and grandmother. Her white cadillac was a common sight going Rt. 34B south pssing Ledyard Church to go to King Ferry Catholic Church. She was a fine lady just like your dad and grandpa, Carroll.
