Joan Rusin Obituary
April 13, 1936 - July 12, 2025
Joan Marie Rusin of Auburn went home to the Lord our Savior on Saturday, July 12, 2025. She was born April 13, 1936 to Thomas and Jane Pelton (Westlake). She married the love of her life, George, and they raised six children and helped raise many of their grandchildren. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life, running around in her backyard among her flower garden, large crop garden and fruit trees.
Joan took so much pride in her house and being from the west end of town. Her wonderful generational neighbors, the Bishop and Walter family, were an extension of her family, always looking out for her. A true blessing in life.
If you were fortunate enough to have met Joan, you knew that she was the mom that taught you to love your children regardless of what they have done and love them unconditionally.
Joan is survived by one sister, Kathleen Dauerheim; her daughters, Arleen Kushaney (Rick), Alison Huey, Alisa Lawton (Kevin), Joel Rusin (Linda) and her very special 4th daughter, Kitana France; 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins, with a special mention to John Breanick.
In addition to her parents, Joan was predeceased by her husband, George; sons, George Jr. and Gary; special grandson, Andrew, and granddaughters, Brandy and Krista; and brothers, Tim, Bob and Eddie Pelton.
There will be no calling hours for Mrs. Rusin.
Family and friends are invited to attend Mrs. Rusin's Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, July 18, 2025, at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, Melrose Rd. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Fleming, N.Y.
