Linda A. Walawender

THROOP - Linda A. Walawender, 78, of Throop, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2024 in Geneva General Hospital. Born in Auburn August 27, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Sophia (Avola) Aschettino and was a life resident of the area.
Linda was a communicant of Holy Family Church and enjoyed golfing, baking, gardening and her time spent with her book club.
She was employed for many years as a Clerk with Mustad and Son Manufacturing in Auburn. A talented seamstress, Linda would help create costumes for the Auburn High School Theatre performances and also spent much of her time volunteering at Holy Family Church.
She is survived by her loving children: Michelle Walawender of Atlanta and Darren Walawender of Auburn; one brother, Raymond Aschettino (Linda) of OH; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to join the family for a Mass of Christian Burial to be offered Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Alphonsus Church, Auburn. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. A calling hour will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., prior to mass in the church. Arrangements are with White Chapel Funeral Home, Inc., 197 South Street, Auburn.

It makes my heart sad to learn of Linda's passing. Our class of '63 luncheons will never be the same. Linda was one of the truly nicest, caring people. She will be missed. RIP, Linda
