Louis Joseph Walczyk

CAYUGA < Louis Joseph Walczyk, 85, husband of Mavis Barber Walczyk, of Clark Street Road, Cayuga, died Friday, Aug. 29, 2008, at Mercy Health and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by his loving family. Born in Auburn, he was the son of the late Joseph and Honorata Walczyk. He was a communicant of St. Hyacinth Church. Louis served as a medic in WWII and was a member of the Donald Ward American Legion Post. He was employed by Auburn Memorial Hospital as an X-ray technician until his retirement. Louis was both an avid bowler and a Yankee fan. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Marvis Barber Walczyk; five sons, Stephen, Gregory (Debra), Timothy, Thomas and James; four daughters, Kathleen Hultz, Cynthia Powers, Elaine (Curtis) Dady and Lynette (Albert) Bielowicz; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, including Christine Cuipylo. Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3 in St. Hyacinth Church. Interment will be in St. Joseph"s Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2 at the Nicpon Funeral Home, 235 State Street.
