Marjorie Oristian Obituary

SILVER SPRING, Md. | Marjorie "Babe" Rossi Oristian, 89, of Bedford Court, Silver Spring, Md., died Dec. 25, 2012 of natural causes.

A native of Auburn, instead of pursuing a career in music, she chose to attend the College of New Rochelle, where she earned a degree in business administration. After graduation in 1944, she worked for her father at the Procino-Rossi Pasta Corporation, where she handled the accounting and business affairs of the company.

In 1949, she married the late Dr. Steven Oristian, also of Auburn, and moved to Maryland, where they lived until her husband's retirement in 1989. During that period, she raised their six sons and was active in numerous church, school and medical community activities.

After her husband's retirement, they moved back to their home in Auburn and lived on Owasco Lake. Shortly after her husband's death, she moved back to Maryland to be close to her family.

She is survived by five sons, Steven, of Gaithersburg, Md., Eric, of Rockville, Md., Mark, of Throop, Karl, of Centreville, Md. and Peter, of Rockville, Md.; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Paul, in 1963.
