Michael Villano Obituary

Michael A. Villano

December 8, 1953 - November 7, 2024

AUBURN - Michael A Villano passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 7, 2024, surrounded by family in his home.

Born in Auburn, NY on December 8, 1953, Mike was the son of Joseph and Antoinette Villano. Mike lived in Auburn for the majority of his life where he was an avid car collector, and motorcycle enthusiast for many years. He belonged to the Prison City Ramblers, where he enjoyed and attended many events showing off his sports cars.

One of Mike's greatest passions was cooking. He worked at Villano's Deli for many years with friends and family, where he created many recipes that his family still uses today. Mike spent endless hours cooking at Saint Francis Church, helping to organize and put on many events to support local churches and charitable events throughout the community. Most importantly he enjoyed laughing and sharing stories in the kitchen at Saint Francis with some of his loyal friends and family. Mike was usually stirring the pot, and not the one that had sauce in it!

Mike will be remembered by friends and family as a very loyal person and committed to helping others. His countless hours dedicated to charitable events in his community of Auburn will not be forgotten by those who shared that time with him. He believed God gave us two hands. One to help ourselves and one to help others.

Mike finished his career employed at the Town Of Owasco, where he was dedicated and responsible for maintaining the town's facilities and grounds to exceptional standards. His presence will be greatly missed by his co-workers.

Surviving are his children: Joe Villano, Yvonne Villano-Hassett (Greg), and Michael A Villano II (Chrissy); his close companion, Rosalind "Roz" Fallat; four grandchildren: Michael Villano III, Rocco Villano, Alexa Villano, and Joey Villano; siblings: Marilyn (Rick) Pierce, Gail Garropy and close companion, Terry Ernest, Robert (Sharon) Villano and Joanne (Frank) Tomasi; as well as several special nieces, nephews and cousins.

A special thank you to family and friends who have been there throughout the years. He always appreciated your loyalty, love, and support. Also to his dedicated doctors and caregivers whose care and compassion never wavered.

In lieu of flowers, please make a charitable donation to Saint Francis Church.

Friends and relatives are invited to join the family at St. Francis Church, 299 Clark St., on Saturday, November 16, 2024 for Mike's calling hours, 10:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., with his Mass to follow at 12:30 p.m.

Villano family, so sorry for your loss.
Mike and I have been friends for years. We both worked together at Clancy´s Store on Seymour and Washington street when we were young. We had many memories throughout the years. Mike probably invented the Sub Sandwich. We would pick tomatoes on Saturdays at Nick Persarchick´s farm in Fleming. Before Nick would pick us up, Mike would get a fresh loaf of Caito´s Italian bread and cut it in half, load it with cold cuts, lettuce, tomatoes and peppers. This was our lunch. So sorry my friend!
