Robert Scott Obituary
MERIDIAN - Robert W. Scott, 87, of Meridian, N.Y., passed away Monday, July 28, 2025, at Upstate University Hospital surrounded by his family. Robert was born in LaFayette, the son of the late Harold Scott and Rita Cory Smith. Robert was a member of the Meridian Baptist Church and the Village of Meridian Beautification Committee. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1960. He retired from the NYS Department of Transportation after 35 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, and working part time for Dudley Water Service.
Robert is survived by his children, Patrick (Linda) Scott, Michael Scott, Kathleen Cole and her life partner, David Brenner all of Cato. His brother, Fred Scott of Oswego; sister, Norma (Bob) Broekhuizen of Plainville; his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Helen Scott; his brother, Clarence Scott; and sisters, Mary Zimmer-Svarney, and Janet Whitford. Calling hours will take place Saturday, August 16, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a memorial service at 1 p.m. all at the Keysor-Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, 11362 South St, Cato, NY, 13033, graveside will follow at Meridian Cemetery. The family would like to express a special thanks to the 5th and 6th floor staff at Upstate University Hospital for their excellent care during Robert's stay. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to CIMVAC Ambulance, 2496 W Main St., Cato, NY 13033, or Meridian Baptist Church, 3148 NY-370, Cato, NY 13033.
