Her selfless service to the church and community was an inspiration. She was loved in her role as principal of Sacred Heart School, Auburn in the 70's and 80's.

We sang this song to the tune of "Peg of My Heart"
Sister Walter Anne,
We love you.
We think you're grand
And we'll tell you
All that you do
Is just for our school
So that we can praise you loudly
Call you ours and claim you proudly.
Your devotion is binding
Leading us on, and guiding.
Sister so true
For all that you do
We love you!
Rest in peace,
Dave, Kevin, Jeanne, Patti, Marianne and Zach Cooper

I feel so blessed to have known Sister Walter Anne. She was a great principal at St. Pius X and I was lucky to have visited her not long ago with my brother. Getting caught up and talking about the good 'ole days! What a gift! Rest in Peace Sister. You will be warmly remembered.

I met Sr. Walter Anne at Sacred Heart Elementary School as a Fifth Grade student in 1956. Since then we have been in contact and she is a lasting influence in my life: a teacher, a mentor, a friend and a beautiful woman who loved her Irish heritage, her family and her students. I will miss her.

My times with this force of a woman were limited but unforgettable. May she rest in peace knowing she gave so much to so many.

May Our Lord rest the Soul of our beloved Sister Walter Anne, SSJ, who taught at Sacred Heart Cathedral School during the 1950's. She was the consummate educator who infused the love of Irish culture, its song & dance, into our lives. Those truly were long happy days in the classroom. She
was a Religious of great stamina and joyfulness. Her talents were God-driven
and we, grateful recipients.
