Larry Staines Obituary

A memorial visitation for Larry Staines, age 73, will be held Friday, July 24, 2015 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. with a brief service at 2 p.m. at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Memorials will be donated to the Mayo Clinic Research for Alzheimer's.
Larry LeRoy Staines, 73, of Arnolds Park, died peacefully in his sleep on July 17, 2015, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Larry was born on Oct. 3, 1941, in Sibley, to Paul and Mildred Staines.
He was a 1960 graduate of Hartley High School and a 1965 graduate of Morningside College.
Larry is survived by his wife, Jeanine; son, Doug (Jennifer Emery) Staines of Waverly; daughter, Michelle (Joe) Wanninger of Ankeny; grandchildren: Katie, Nicole, and Jacob Staines of Waverly and Annie, Lily Marie, Sarah, and Emily Wanninger of Ankeny; brother, Jay (Nancy) Staines of Okoboji; his brothers-in-law Warren (Linda) Johannsen of Albert Lea, Minn., and Dale (Dixie) Johannsen of Waseca, Minn.; sister-in-law Jill Witter of Albert Lea, Minn.; cousins, nephew, nieces and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Mildred Staines.
Turner Jenness Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
