My heart is broken. I just want to say to her family, especially her mother that if I could do anything to take this pain away and turn back the hands of time I would. I know nothing I say to you can take it away but just know that you will always have this precious child's memories and one day you will see your sweet baby again.

My granddaughter was a friend of Alana's , my daughter said she was the sweetest young lady , she said Alana would talk to adults like she was interested in what they had to say , that impressed my daughter so much ,she said Alana was a wonderful girl . My heart is filled with grief for you all her family and friends . I am so so sorry that her life was so short , but she is with the Angels . I know that doesn't help , that is what I hear about my mother but it is sincere and from my heart to yours . Remember all the good times and talk to her with your heart . She is here and always will be as long as she is in your heart .

Betty Jo & family, my sincere condoloences to you and your family. Even though I didn't have the pleasure of meeting your sweet girl, I could look at her and tell she was a sweetheart. Rest knowing that she is forever wrapped in the arms of our heavenly father and watching over her family. Our heavenly father needed her more with him, than we needed her on earth. Her work here was done, even though we will never understand why. You are in my thoughts and prayers. May God give you the strength you need to get through this tough time. Much love.

Dear Family of Alana,
My heart is so sad. Alana was my library helper at Lisby-Hillsdale in Aberdeen. She was a wonderful young lady. I remember Alana being a little sad to be leaving Aberdeen; so we made her a memory book. She was so excited about that book;I will never forget her expresssion. She and I chatted a lot; she was such a smart girl. She made a huge impression on me;I will not forget her.My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

our family is so sorry for the loss of your beautiful young daughter. Our daughter Ashley met Alana at Phat camp at camp jackson just a few weeks ago. She said she was such a sweet girl. One thing you can take comfort in is that she gave her life to Jesus Christ during that week. She was certain of that.

Dear Calahan family,

I am so very sorry for your loss. At the end of each school year Alana has phoned me at the school to update me on how things were going in Georgia. I always enjoyed hearing from her and could visualize her beautiful smile as we spoke on the phone. Alana was a very sweet and well mannered young lady. She will be greatly missed in the Aberdeen community.

Our slogan for our Bethesda youth group is A.R.M.Y. (Always Recruiting More Youth). Alana was very strong in this area; she was always inviting other youth from her school and others to come check us out; and with that beautiful smile she wore, people were just curious to see what that smile was all about; and I believe she let them know it's God's love. God used her in a powerful way and is still using her today to spread his love with the example of life that she lived.

I only met Alana once or twice...I did not know her. Alana was a friend of my daughter Sylvia Korte. However, I have learned a great deal about her in the last few days. From the stories my daughter has told me, to her facebook posts, to all the friends and family who came to her candlelight service at Bethesda the other night, I do know that she is loved dearly, she deeply loved the Lord and wasn't afraid to share her love of God with others, and she will be missed terribly. My heart goes out to your family. I have been praying everyday since I heard the news asking God to ease your pain, wrap his arms around you, and bring you peace in this sad time. I am deeply sorry for your loss. Though I didn't know her, Alana's passing has affected me in a way I cannot fully explain. May God bless you and comfort you in this time of great need.
