Bill McElderry Obituary
Mr. McElderry was a native and resident of Augusta and a member of Curtis Baptist Church. He was a Master Gardner and was president and owner of Green Expectations. Mr. McElderry earned an undergraduate degree from Presbyterian College and a Masters of Economics from University of Georgia. He loved promoting the city of Augusta as an active volunteer of the Red Carpet Tour for over 30 years.
Family members, in addition to his wife include children: John W. McElderry, III (Lee Ann) of Augusta, Sarah E. McElderry of Atlanta (and their mother, Amy M. McElderry), Jeremy P. Goldman of Lincolnton, Bridgett G. Willis (Chuck) of Grovetown; grandchildren: John W. McElderry, IV, Hollin McElderry, Taylor Smith (fiancee Ryan Cato), Skylar Goldman, Aubrey Goldman, Emma Willis, Brantley Willis; brother: Hugh T. McElderry (Judy); sister: Nancy M. Parks (Lee) and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Dr. Brad Whitt officiating. Burial will follow at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens, 2235 Washington Road, Thomson, GA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests charitable donations be made to Thornwell Home for Children, 302 S. Broad Street, Clinton, SC 29325.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Rd., Augusta, GA 30907 (706) 364-8484. Please sign the guestbook at www.thomaspoteet.com
