Blake Mitchell Obituary
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at The Quest Church with the Rev. John Kenney officiating. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
Blake was a 2011 graduate of Evans High School. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved the Georgia Bulldogs. He was employed as a welder at Deltec.
He is survived by his two sons; Brycen and Hudson Mitchell, his parents; Nancy Hanson (Donald) and Scott Mitchell (Siobhan Malley), his sisters; Kristina Mitchell, Makenna Mitchell and Katharine Hanson, his brothers; Tyler Hanson and Zachary Hanson, his grandparents; Belton Collins Mitchell and Shelia Mitchell, grandmother; Monika Smith and grandfather; Howard Hanson, his niece; Bryleigh Reynolds, his mother and father in law; Leigh and Jerry Hamilton, and a sister in law; Victoria Hamilton, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Blake was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ashleigh, and his grandfather, Kenneth Smith.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Adkins, Matt Joyner, Tyler Roberson, Eric Kent, Donald Hanson, Tyler Hanson and Zachary Hanson.
The family will receive friends at Platt's Belair Road Chapel on Friday evening, August 17, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.

Nancy and Donald,
There are some things in life that we just don't have answers for. When the life of a child is ended earlier than we think it should, no matter their age, we quickly go to "Why, God?" Knowing the tragedies your family has endured over the past months leads me there as well. But I know only He has the answers. We may never understand and may even be angry for what we see as so very unfair. I pray that you all find peace in our Father's loving arms and from the love and support of your many friends who are here for you as each coming day passes.

Nancy and family, there are times that there are just not words. This is one of those times. I know that your faith will sustain you, but I also know that you are all reeling in the unknown trying to make sense of all of this. The loss has to be overwhelming. I will pray with all I have for the grace of our Father to hold you and give you the peace that only He can give. I can't offer you any words that are going to make this part of the journey better. I know the pain is almost unbearable. What I can offer you is all my love and a shoulder for you to cry on and hugs whenever you need them. I can promise to go through this journey with all of you and try to help in any way I can. As much as I love you and care for you, Jesus loves and cares more and better than I can. I pray that He makes His presence known to all of you and that He gives you the comfort you need. I pray that He wraps his arms around each of you and holds you up. I love you and I am here for ever I can do for you. Rest in peace Blake. You blessed so many lives in your short time here on earth.

I don't think there are any perfect words to say in times like this. My heart breaks for your entire family. You're in my thoughts and prayers daily. We never know God's will, but through all we remain entrusted to him.
Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remember Blake in all his happiness! We'll yell Go Dawgs for him this year!

My life has been so blessed by your entire family. U have always had such a compassionate heart but even moreso than most people will ever know. I've always said that even though I never got to give birth to my own children; God still blessed me with amazing kids and you were one of them.
