Brian Fletcher Obituary

Brian T. Fletcher
Grovetown, GA—On Monday, April 5, 2021, Brian Thomas Fletcher, loving son, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew and friend to many, passed away at the age of 46. Brian was born on May 24, 1974 in Honolulu, HI to William and Yong Fletcher. Brian is survived by his father, William, and his mother, Yong. He is also survived by his three brothers Richard, Bill and James, and several nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts and cousins. In addition to his family, Brian loved his rescue dog and beloved friend, little Louie.
Brian graduated from Evans High School in 1992. Brian received his Bachelor of Arts (B.A. Political Science & Sociology) in 1996 from Northwestern University, Evanston IL, graduating Magna Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa and with numerous honors and recognition. He graduated and received his Medical Degree in 2004 from the University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine, Chicago, IL. Brian completed his residency and medical school at NYU in the Emergency Room. His residency and training as an Emergency Room Physician was his life calling. Brian worked as an E.R. Physician throughout the remainder of his adult life, till the end.
Brian's work and life was truly, deeply sacred. Brian worked early in his career from 2008-2010 at Stamford Hospital, Stamford, CT. Brian was drawn into NYC after 9/11 and felt the calling to serve. He served as an ER physician from 2010-2014 at Bronx Lebanon Hospital, Bronx, NY. After leaving NY, Brian aspired for warmer weather in California. Brian worked as an E.R. physician at Huntington Memorial Hospital (Pasadena), Providence St. Joseph Medical Center (Burbank) and Providence Cedars-Sinai and EXER Urgent Care (LA) while living in L.A.. Brian's calling and passion was to save lives. Brian also loved the Hollywood spotlight. He started a television career a few years ago, playing the role of Dr. Fletcher in a TLC series. Before passing away, he was signed to another television series for A&E. His parents and family are extremely proud of his life accomplishments, and how he deeply touched so many lives.
Brian was a brilliant, bright and beautiful young man. Always the brightest light in the room, he was one of the most compassionate physicians to work an E.R. He was known by all of his colleagues as a brilliant, compassionate and talented doctor, with the heart of a nurse. Brian's glowing presence and radiant spirit touched thousands of lives; his medical training and hands saved hundreds of lives; his grace and kindness won thousands of hearts.
There will be a private family service in Augusta, GA, to celebrate his life. All other tributes, memorials and services can be viewed by going to his social media page (Facebook) for more information. These tributes and memorials are being coordinated by colleagues, friends and family across the country over the next few weeks and months.
In your hands, O Lord, we humbly entrust Brian. Welcome Brian into paradise, where there will be no sorrow, no weeping or pain, but fullness of peace and joy with your Son and the Holy Spirit forever and ever. Amen.

I remember when Brian beat me in the Columbia Middle School spelling bee, I was in 7th grade and he was in 8th. I remember Brian at Evans High School when he amazed us all with his intelligence and wit during debate tournaments. I remember when I became Facebook friends with him and saw all of his successful accomplishments. What a life he had! Everyone loved him and always had a funny story to share. He will always be the smartest half-Korean in the whole entire world to me, and I will miss him. The world deserved to have him here for a lot longer. Prayers to his entire family.

Brian was loved by so many, even people like me who only knew him from Facebook. His passion for taking care of his patients, his friends, and his sweet pup was evident in everything his wrote. I miss his humor and his sense of justice every day. I am so sorry for the loss of his light in his family’s life. Friends in real life and in Facebook life all around the country are grieving.
