C. Johnson Obituary

Founder of Johnson Motor Company AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. C. C. Johnson, 95, of 4275 Owens Rd., Evans, a devoted husband of the late Mrs. Laura S. Johnson, entered into rest Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at his residence. Survivors include a son and daughter in law, Duncan and Lynda Johnson of Augusta, GA.; four grandchildren, Duncan Norris Johnson, Jr., Laura Johnson Corbitt, George Johnson Lamar and Henry Black Lamar; and three great grandchildren. Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his daughter, Henrietta Johnson Lamar The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, November 30, 2006 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. A native of North Augusta, SC., Mr. Johnson was the Founder of Johnson Motor Company in 1936. He served as Past president of General Motors Dealer Council, a founder of the National Association of Food Research (Red Coats), director of the Citizens and Southern Bank Board, and the president of the Tennessee Walking Horse Association. Mr. Johnson was a Captain in the United States Army having served during WWII., and a member of Fairview Presbyterian Church, North Augusta, SC. If so desired, memorials may be made to Fairview Presbyterian Church, 1101 Carolina Ave., N. Augusta, SC. 29841. A Private graveside service will be held on Friday, December 1, 2006.
