Carlton Golden Obituary
Martinez, GA—Mr. Carlton Donald Golden, beloved husband of Barbara Golden for 65 years, entered into rest on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, April 23, 2021 at Platts Belair Road Chapel with the Rev. Renae Hester and the Rev. Dr. David Stockton officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Golden was a retired land surveyor with the City of Augusta. He was an Air Force veteran and a member of Damascus Baptist Church. He was a Friend of Bill W for over 51 years. He sponsored over 100 individuals on their walk to Sobriety. Don never met a stranger nor did he ever let someone walk away without feeling loved.
In addition to his wife, Barbara, he is survived by his sons, Mike Golden (Marilyn), Donald Golden (Lynn), and Larry Golden (Lisa), his daughters, Jeanie Stewart (Keith), Rhonda McKinney and Donna Wagoner (Brad), his grandchildren, Michelle, Robin, Donny, Racheal, Crystal, Johnny, Brandy, Ronnie, Sarah, Jena, Michael, Brandy, Brandon, Jessica, Allison and Dallas, as well as a niece, Peggy Cofer, 25 great grandchildren, his daughter in law, Lois, and his faithful companion, Patches.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ules and Annie Golden, his son, Ronald Golden, his sister, Emma Johnson and a granddaughter, Jennifer Ressler.

Prayers for Barbara and the Golden Family. I know that you are all heartbroken to lose Don in this life. I really feel that there is a peace in it all. No more suffering! We never saw him where he didn't say, "I love you". Sometimes I would try to beat him to it. Had to be quick. Love you all and will be thinking of you over the next days and weeks.
