Clyde Hamrick Obituary
Mr. Hamrick was a native of Polkville, NC, a former resident of North Augusta, SC, having made Barnwell, SC his home for the past 36 years. He was a member of the Barnwell United Methodist Church and retired as from the Savannah River Plant as a railroad engineer with over 40 years of service. Mr. Hamrick was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Hamrick; his parents Voyde Smith Hamrick and Nezzie Lee Hamrick; a sister, Bernice Hamrick; three brothers, Max Hamrick, Donald Hamrick and Harold Hamrick.
Survivors include a daughter, Amy (Ron) Johnson, North Augusta, SC; a son, Richard Hamrick, Peachtree Corners, GA; three grandchildren, Sara Capers (Brian) Grooms, Stewart Gregory Capers, III, Mary Carolyn Capers; a great-granddaughter, Molly Lynne Grooms; a sister, Linda Mullinax; and a brother, Randy (Judy) Hamrick.
Pallbearers will be Eric Hamrick, Mark Hamrick, Todd Mullinax, Jason Mullinax, Brian Grooms and J.D. Roberts.
Memorials may be made to Barnwell United Methodist Church, 236 Main Street, Barnwell, SC 29812.

I so wanted to be able to say goodbye, I had been in Illinois 2 months with my mother who was fighting her last battle and succumbed just a few weeks later. Clyde was a wonderful friend, a father figure and protector at a time in my life I needed all of those things.

Clyde was my GOOD friend. I had the honor of serving with him on the Barnwell City Council.

Psalm 90:10 says that the days of our years are 70 years, And if because of special mightiness they are 80 years.

I was so sorry to learn of Clyde's passing. He and Helen took me under their wings when I moved to Barnwell 35 years ago. I lived across the street from them, they were wonderful neighbors and friends.
