Dear Mr. Sheehan,

We went to school with your sons and daughters,
We wore the white and green,
Our building sat at Victory and Waters,
With your kids we'd be seen.

There were Mulherins, Brodericks, Husseys and Konculs,
A family of 5 was small,
Every day some kid had sore tonsils,
When Sr. Assunta came down the hall.

The Sheehan name is carried on with pride,
What would a parade be without it?
The Sheehan smile isn't easy to hide,
A nicer family than yours? We doubt it.

To Tricia and Family,

Although it has been many years and I don't know your dad very well, I do remember his business on the corner of Oglethorpe and East Broad Streets and I do truly remember most of the Sheehan's (large family that it is) and most of all you "Tricia" as you were affectionately called during our days at BSS and SVA.

From the many pages here of nothing but good thoughts and memories of your day, I know he truly was a great man, and most of all he was a true Irishman.

With much sincerity,

I'd like to express my sincere sympathy for Dan's family. I worked for Dan Sheehan in the mid 70's and know him as a most generous man. Joining Dan J. Sheehan Company was an experience that I'll never regret.
Dan had the ability to remember faces so well that even recently he recognized me when I spoke with him and could recall my name.
When I was expecting my second child and again when my third child was born, Dan made me feel like a valued part of the organization.
He will always hold a special place in my good memories. I remember his children when they were very young and hope that they'll be proud of the legacy that their dad left for them.
Carolyn, God bless you in all that you do.

I didn't have the pleasure of knowing Mr. Sheehan personally, I learned of his death through WTOC news tribute it seemed to capture the esscence of a man who was very kind and free-hearted towards others, a rare quality in people today. I'm sure your lost is great. I've lost dear, dear loved ones within the last year and a half...death is never easy.

This passage from the Holy Scriptures has been a comfort for me and I hope it will prove to be a comfort for your family as well.

Phil.4:7..."and the peace of God that excels all thought will guard YOUR hearts and YOUR mental powers by means of Christ Jesus."

May you have peace in this time of great loss.

Dear Sheehan Family,

As for many, one cannot resist grinning when thinking of the Sheehan family with the slew of interesting stories from Arsley Park, the Savannah Golf Club, and Blessed Sacrament. Growing up with your family, especially with an introduction at the golf club pool, as a child had a natural fear of "Mr. Sheehan"-- he had stern demeanor as the patriarch of his infamous brood. In later years when I worked in the pro shop at the club, the fear was melted away by the smiles, laughs, and "how are you's" exchanged . I saw Mr. Sheehan a few years ago at our family home, paying a much needed visit to my dad about a year after his stroke, bringing him a new shirt. My dad had a huge smile on his face. That visit meant so much to my family; not only did it show his generosity and compassion, but his wisdom as well.

I am so sorry for your loss and feel for you at this difficult time. I hope the great memories bring smiles to your faces as well.

My Dear Mrs Sheehan, Kevin, and family:

My heart goes out to you on the passing of a great man.

One does not have to tell how lucky you all are to have had him as the patriarch of the Sheehan Clan nor to have him now in your hearts and the wonderful smiles of his grandchildren and their future children.

His love of God, the United States and dear Ireland is a legacy that is with you and will be with all of us.

I pray and wish you nothing but good memories of the incredible times you spent with him.

Mary K,
I'm so sorry about your Dad. He is just someone you thought would be here forever.
I'll never forget when he bought this super sporty car...I think it was a Monte Carlo and it had white "bucket seats". This was back in the seventies and in my eyes he was just the coolest dad in town for driving such a trendy car!
May this time of grief be softened by all of our good memories of him.

I want to sincerely express my sympathy to you Carolyn for the loss of your Husband, and to the rest of the Sheehan Family for the loss of your Father. I know that I speak for many people, especially my Family, when I say; We Will Miss Him. Mrs. Sheehan, Eamon and the rest of the Sheehan Family,
I was deeply saddened to learn of the death of Mr. Sheehan. He was a wonderful person. He welcomed me and my family into the "BC family" with open arms when I joined the coaching staff there many years ago. He always had a kind word or joke to share whenever I saw him. My son Noah and I attended a BC game a few weeks ago. Mr. Sheehan disappeared with Noah, only to return a few minutes later with him dressed in a BC t-shirt. He had a great laugh about that. Hold fast to memories such as those, they can provide great comfort. You and your family are in my prayers.

Eamon and Ms. Sheehan:
We've really lost a shining light of love and compassion, of generousity and faith. Mr. Sheehan was such a warm, funny, spirited, and giving man - I don't think I ever saw him without a smile on his face or unable to offer a quick-witted joke. He was among the best of men.
While his physical presence departs, I know his strong Irish spirit will certainly live on in Eamon and the boys - and that his love of Savannah, America, and being Irish will endure for generations to come.
I'm lucky to have known him, albeit briefly. I count my blessings for it.
Thanks for sharing such a grand marshal of God's love.
With deepest sympathy, warmest regards, and unending prayers and love,
Bryan
