Dorothy Hicks Obituary

AIKEN, S.C. - Mrs. Dorothy G. Hicks, 78, of Warrenville, SC, beloved wife of the late Bronzell Lowell Hicks and daughter of the late Luther Lee and Viola Fain Jenkins, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Wednesday, August 5th, 2009. Born in and a resident Aiken County, SC most of her life, she was a homemaker. Mrs. Hicks was a charter member of Mid-Valley Baptist Church. Family members include her children, Lowell Hicks, (Karen) Langley, SC, Linda S. Chilson, (Edwin) Graniteville, SC, Ricky Hicks, (Jeannie) Warrenville, SC, Nancy Fenstermacher, (Stephen) Aiken, SC, Billy Hicks, (Vickie) Warrenville, SC and the late Bobby J. Hicks, (Barbara) Panama City, FL; brother, the late William Lester Jenkins, a dearly loved sister who she affectionately called 'sis', Martha Ann Brantley, (Jim) Aiken, SC; seventeen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren who she loved 'tending to'. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, August 7th, 2009, at noon at Mid-Valley Baptist Church, Graniteville, SC, with Pastor Paul Cook and Pastor Jim Kirk officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, SC. Mrs. Hicks will be placed in the church at 11 o'clock Friday. The family has asked that if so desired, memorials in memory of Mrs. Hicks be made to Mid-Valley Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1323 Langley, SC 29834. Friends may call at the home of Billy and Vickie Hicks. The family will greet friends tonight from 6 until 8 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Langley, SC. We were so sorry to hear about Dot passing away this week she has been a vital part of Mid-Valley Baptist Church and we will miss her. She was always smiling we will miss her greatly our prayers and thoughts are with you
