Elizabeth Riddle

HARLEM, Ga. - Elizabeth M. Betty Riddle, 78, went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Thursday, October 24, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband William L. Bill Riddle. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 26, 2013, at Powell Baptist Church with the Dr. Randall Whitaker officiating. Interment will be in Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Riddle was a Godly woman that greatly loved and cared for her family and served her Lord. She leaves a legacy of service and love. She was an active member of Powell Baptist Church where she served as WMU Director, Sunday School Teacher, chaired the Hospitality Committee and was a member of the Dorcas Sunday School Class. She faithfully served the families utilizing the facilities at Doctors Hospital Burn Center by providing meals. Mrs. Riddle was retired from the Columbia County Board of Education. Survivors include her children, John A. Riddle, Francis (Lee) Yelton and Timothy Riddle; Grandchildren Dana Riddle, Allen L. (Stephanie) Riddle, Adam Yelton and April Yelton; Great-granddaughter Aracely Reyes-Riddle. Mrs. Riddle will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Deacons of Powell Baptist Church. The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Southeastern Firefighters Burn Foundation, 3614 J. Dewey Gray Circle, Suite C, Augusta, GA 30909. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 7 - 9 PM at Starling Funeral Home, Hwy. 78, Harlem, Ga.
