George Walker Obituary

MADISON, Ga. - Mr. George Lawrence Walker, 85, of Atlanta Hwy. entered into rest on Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at Capital Regional Medical Center in Tallahassee, Florida. Mr. Walker was a retired biologist with the State Game and Fish Commission and was a veteran of the United States Army serving his country during World War II. He was a member of Hiram Masonic Lodge # 51, American Legion Post # 194 and Beulah Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Judy Walker Harris and husband, Steve of Conyers, Ga.; three sons, Larry Walker and wife, Janine of Tallahassee, Fl., Charles Christmas of Tallahassee, Fl. and John Walker of Augusta, Ga.; five sisters, Evelyn W. Logan of Graniteville, S.C., Ruth W. Poland of Lincolnton, Ga., Priscilla W. Styles of Conyers, Ga., Shirley W. Ashmore of Belton, S.C. and Imelda Walker of Lewiston N.Y.; five grandchildren;; four great grandchildren; his pet and faithful companion, Annie. The funeral service will be held Saturday, December 16, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Beulah Baptist Church with Rev. Jamie Callaway and Dr. Perry Crowell officiating. Interment will follow with Masonic and military rites in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be members of Hiram Masonic Lodge # 51. If so desired memorial contributions may be made to American Legion Post # 194, P.O. Box 134, Lincolnton, Ga. 30817.
