Hazel Grizzard Obituary

WARRENVILLE, S.C. - Funeral services for Hazel Matlock Grizzard, of Warrenville, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at First Christian Church of Jackson. Burial will follow in Jackson Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at George Funeral Home. Mrs. Grizzard, widow of Teddy J. Grizzard, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2014. Born in Columbia, SC, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Bertha Parnell Stinson. Mrs. Grizzard was retired from Bath Mill, a member of First Christian Church of Jackson and a member of the Foster Grand Parent s Association at Jefferson Elementary School. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Daniel Matlock and a daughter, Alice Matlock Marshall. Survivors include: sons, John Matlock of N. Augusta, Bill Matlock (Patricia) of Warrenville and Mark Matlock (Shannon) of Graniteville; a daughter, Janice Hopper of Cherry Log, Georgia; a sister, Myrtis Smith of Detroit, Michigan; 4 grandchildren, Brenna Gillard, Amy Huff, Roger Daniel Hopper and Joshua Matlock and 8 great-grandchildren.
