Henry A. Easterby

COLUMBIA, S.C. - A memorial service for Henry Ackerman Easterby, 76, will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Killian Baptist Church. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to InterMedical Hospital of South Carolina at Taylor and Marion Streets, Columbia, SC 29201. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family. Mr. Easterby died Tuesday, November 15, 2005 of respiratory failure. Born in Charleston, S.C., he was a son of the late Dr. James Harold and Winnie Ackerman Easterby. An Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, he was a Master Machinist and owned Rebel Machine Shop for 44 years. He raced cars and was involved in Speed Boat Racing in his earlier years. He was a machinist to many racers in the area. He attended Killian Baptist Church. Loved by all, he will be greatly missed by his wife of 43 years, Frankie Hardeman Easterby; son, Cameron Lee (Brenda) Easterby ofLawrenceville, Ga.; daughter, Melissa Easterby (Steve) Grimshaw of Frisco, Texas; grandchildren, Amy and Cale Ackerman Easterby of Lawrenceville, Ga., Henry Cameron, Steven, and Brittany Grimshaw of Frisco, Texas; and brother, James Harold Easterby, Jr. of Columbia, S.C.
