John J. Flynt Family,
My deepest sympathy goes to the Flynt family. I visited with Congressman Flynt while I was in Washington, D.C. in 1971. We confirmed through our visit that we were related. I had the upmost respect for Congressman Flynt and was very proud to call him my cousin. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family.
Sincerely,
Don Flynt

Congressman Flynt became Dean of our Georgia Delegation when Congressman Phil Landrum retired. We called him "Jack" or "Dean" as he was a leader and masterful speaker. When he took the well of the House, members listened. We took pride in his representation and camaraderie. His friendship was real and genuine. His contributions to our country will be long remembered as his link in the chain forged by our founding fathers is in their likeness, strength, and courage. May his family find consolation in the gratitude of so many of us for his life and service.
With respect and admiration,
The Jack and Lois Brinkley family

Dear Ms. Patty, I just learned of the death of my friend of over 40 years. He was the perfect "Southern Gentleman".. After graduation from Gordon Military in Barnesville Cong. Flynt invited two of my friends and me to Washington where he introduced us to many wonderful people like Robert Kennedy and others. He allowed us to use his parking place at his office and you prepared us a wonderful dinner that night after meeting Mr. Kennedy. I will never forget you and your dear husband. We need more statesmen like him now.. I own Haisten Funeral Home in Jackson where both of you have attended services for your friends here. May God bless you and your family in your time of sorrow.
