AUGUSTA, Ga. - Jonathan Troy Chavis, 43, entered into rest Monday, October 24, 2016, at University Hospital. Memorial services will be held Friday, October 28, 2016, at 4:00 PM from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with Dr. Greg DeLoach officiating. Mr. Chavis was born in Augusta and graduated from Butler High School, Class of 1991. He attended Augusta Technical College and was employed by Resolute Forest Products in the Maintenance Department. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, William A. Coleman, and by his cousin, Christopher Badke. He is survived by his sons, Jonathan Hunter Chavis, A1C, US Air Force, and Tristin Wayne Chavis, both of Augusta; his parents, Theresa and Larry Chavis, of Augusta; his maternal grandmother, Carolyn D. Coleman, of Augusta; his sister, Angela Cushman (Alan), of Evans; the love of his life, Pamela Nimmons Maddox, and her children, Chase, Allison, and Haylee, of Augusta; the mother of his children, Angela M. Chavis, of Augusta; his niece, LeeAnn Cushman, (Tyler), of Evans; and his beloved dog, Sadie.
