Joseph W. Banks, Sr.
Grovetown, GA—Joseph W. Banks, Sr., 68, beloved husband of Mrs. Joyce D Banks, entered into rest on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at his residence.
A graveside service will be held in Hillcrest Memorial Park, at 12:00 noon, on
Wednesday, December 9, 2020.
Born in Lincolnton, GA on January 18, 1952, he was the son of the late Renny and Fanny Ruth Goldman Banks, and had made the Augusta area his home for most of his life. Mr. Banks retired from Civil Service at Fort Gordon as a Medical Records Technician. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed following the Atlanta Braves and any sport related to the Georgia Bulldogs. He liked to watch Perry Mason and Criminal Minds on TV. He was involved in the Boy Scouts and had been a local Troop Secretary. He was of the Mormon Faith.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Banks is survived by his children, Jeffrey Allen Edwards, Joseph W. Banks, Jr. (Evangeline), Amy Lynn Banks, William James Banks (Norma), Alfred J. Banks (Margaret); his half brother, Tommie Crook; his half sister, Amanda; sister-in-law, Helen Banks; and his grandchildren, Charles Banks, Camil Banks, Clarice Banks, Zachary Banks, Hannah Roberts and Darrel Banks.
