Ki Hawthorne Obituary
Martinez, Georgia— Mrs. Ki Cha Kim Hawthorne, age 74, beloved wife of Dean Pfennig, entered into rest Thursday, August 01, 2019 at home surrounded by her loved ones. Mrs. Hawthorne was born in Kyunggi-do Republic of Korea
to the late Kim Myong San and Lee Sun Cha. Mrs. Hawthorne had retired from The Marriott as a Banquet Chef. She was a member of First United Pentecostal Church. Mrs. Hawthorne enjoyed motor cycle riding, camping, gardening, cooking for her family, and spending time with her dog, Samatha. But most of all she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandson, and family.
Funeral services will be at 6:30 P.M. on Friday, August 09, 2019 at First United Pentecostal Church, 1929 Fenwick St., Augusta with Pastors Mark Maddox, Wesley McClain, and Stanley Lewis officiating.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Hawthorne was also preceded in death by her first husband and the father of their children, Robert Wilson Hawthorne and a grandson, Adam Hawthorne.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Hawthorne is also survived by one son, Donny Hawthorne (Anna) of Apopke, FL; two daughters, Michelle Bell (Hudson) of Appling, GA and Kathleen Harris of Augusta, GA; step-children, Joyce, Larry, Julie, and Zee; two brothers, Ki In of Inchon, South Korea and Ki Sun, U.S. Navy Retired, of Madison, WI; one sister, Ki Bun of Inchon, South Korea; six grandchildren, Ashley, Eleanor, Justin, Evyn, Christian, and Trey; one great grandson, Hawthorne; and numerous nieces and nephews.
We are truly grateful and would like to give recognition to Affinis Hospice Facility for their outstanding care and service through this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the ALS Foundation for Life, P.O. Box: 96, Natick, MA 01760.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

I was heartbroken when I heard Kicha had passed. We worked side by side at the Radisson for ten years. She was by far the hardest working person I've ever known. Not only that, one of the most caring. She took me under her wing and never let me go. Taught me so much. My heart goes out to Dean and the rest of the family. She was one great lady!

Our heartfelt sympathy to all of Kim's family. There is no way Ted and I can tell you how sad we are. We have lost a friend who will be greatly missed. She has been my friend for 35 years and I will be lost without her, I lost my sister. May God be with her family during this trying time. Please know that Ted and I will be here for you if you need us.

My mother. She is missed terribly. She is in heaven now... I wonder if they wear name tags in heaven... She would be content if she found her parents and her first grandchild Adam.

Ki Cha worked with me at the Radisson/Augusta Marriott for many years. She was such a good hearted, hard working lady and will be sorely missed by family and friends. Rest in peace dear lady.

My deepest condolences to Dean and all the family for their loss! We have ridden many miles on motorcycles with Dean & Kim when we were all members of the "Masters City Riders" m/c club and have many good memories together! Kim will be greatly missed and was loved by all who knew her!!!

I remember meeting her years ago at the Radisson. I truly admired her, and she won Employee of the Month often. She'd sit in the office, often, talking to me and was always so sweet. Then, I was happy she married my dad and became family. She made my father very happy. Prayers for comfort to everyone.

The loss of Ms. Kim or Grandma butterscotch as she was also known to her grandchildren and all of the kids she poured her love into will be felt deeply by all who were lucky enough to know her. She was a wonderful person and I will miss her as well. Prayers for the family.
