Lucy Cline Obituary

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. – Mrs. Lucy Cline, 89, widow of the late James Cline, entered into rest on Wednesday, December 28, 2016.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church with Father Jacob Joseph, celebrant. Interment will be at Pineview Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearers will be Christopher Swayze, Joseph Woods, Jimmie Paschal, Jerry Paschal, Dennis Simpson and RJ Vero.
Mrs. Cline was born in Milan, Italy, daughter of the late Giovanni and Maria (Masoli) Lazzati, and was a resident of North Augusta, SC for 41 years. Besides her husband and parents, Lucy was predeceased by her daughter Wendy Cline Paschal of Evans, GA, and by her brother Roberto Lazzati of Milan, Italy.
Lucy was of the greatest generation. She came of age in Milan, Italy at the end of World War II. After the war, because she was fluent in three languages, she worked at the Allied Headquarters in Milan, as a Secretary to the General Staff. It was there, after the war, that she met and fell in love with Jim Cline. Lucy married her beloved Jim and they came to the United States together leaving behind family and friends. She worked hard and studied hard and became an American Citizen. Married for 59 years, Lucy and Jim created a wonderful home life and legacy for their family. When they relocated to North Augusta, SC, in 1975, they became members of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Jim and Lucy worked to help build the church. Lucy was blessed with a beautiful voice and joined the church choir, where she often performed as a soloist. More than anything, Lucy was devoted to her family and her grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, James Robert Cline (Brendan Breen) of Fort Lauderdale, FL., John Paul Cline of Enschede, The Netherlands; one daughter, Sandra Jean Simpson (Dennis) of North Augusta; one son-in-law, Jimmie Paschal of Evans, G.A.; one sister-in-law Ms. Graziella Meazi of Milan, Italy; eight grandchildren, Christopher Swayze ( Roberta Dutko) of Bridgewater, N.J., Lisa Swayze Woods (Joseph) of Atlantic Highlands, N.J., Marlou Cline and Janis Cline of Enschede, The Netherlands, April Paschal Weaver and Samantha Paschal of Evans, G.A.; three great-grandchildren, Alex, Emilia, and Donovan; and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
The Vigil Service will be held at 6:00 PM Friday, December 30, 2016 in the Chapel of Rowland Funeral Home where the family will receive friends until 8:00 PM. At the request of the family, please make memorials in memory of Mrs. Lucy Cline to the 'One Faith, One Family Fund' in care of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 856 Edgefield Rd., North Augusta, SC 29841.
