To the Davis and Tuft family, words cannot express how I'm feeling at the loss of one of my teachers at Glenn Hills High School. Mrs Davis taught me Science and she made it so interesting to me which I found to be boring. To her family I would like to say thank you for sharing such a beautiful soul and caring individual to me and many others. She will surely be missed by so many. Our prayers are with you and praying for your hearts to be mended for your loss.

How do I begin? Mrs. Davis was my teacher, mentor and also part of the village that made sure a child didn't get out of hand. Mrs. Davis knew my Mom and she made sure I knew she will call her if necessary. I was sad when Mrs. Davis was moved to another school during the time of integration.

I was glad my youngest daughter Tiffany was able to meet and know Mrs. Davis during her Debutante years.

Regina, my classmate please know your Dad Mr. Davis, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. You were/are a wonderful caregiver...no regrets. Embrace the precious memories of your Mom.

There are countless citizens of many generations who are blessed and have become better citizens, because we sat under the wisdom and guidance of the Davises. We passed on that knowledge to our children and others whom we encountered in our life's journey. Their inspiration, and that of other Educators during that era, encouraged me and others to teach. More importantly, we were instilled with standards of deportment as well as the value of gaining and using knowledge to improve our station in life, with pride. I am eternally grateful to God, the Davises and others, who used their gifts for the betterment of others. Family, joyfully know this servant of God, served well. Well done, good and faithful servant!

My heartfelt condolences to Marguerite's family. I am so sorry about her passing. I taught with her at Glenn Hills High School in 1969, 1970, and 1971. She was a dedicated teacher and a wonderful friend to all the faculty at Glenn Hills. In those early days of integration in Richmond County, she was a powerful force for harmony and cooperation between all students and faculty. I have always regarded her with the greatest respect and reverence. (Regina, I don't think I ever met you, but I heard her speak glowingly of you every day! She adored you! I know your heart is heavy.)

I wish to express my gratitude to the family of Marguerite Davis for sharing your gift to the world. Mrs. Davis was My Teacher and Mentor. Above all, she shared Emanuel Kants "Categorical Imperative", She lived her life in such a way that her behavior could become rule for the world." She lived the optimal human condition, doing justice, loving mercy and walking humbly before God. Your legacy of mentoring others will speak for you many generations to come. Thanks for pushing me to become the best God wanted empowered through me. See you in God's good time Mrs. Davis.

She loved her daughter Regina and her dear Husband Mr. Davis ; if it was not for Mrs Davis most African Americans in Augusta would not have made it in life. She was a key influence in education her entire life. Everybody loved Mrs Davis; she taught at Laney and Glenn Hills High School. She lived to be 93 years of age because she treated everybody with respect. My brother Curits Mitchell loved her and family with all his heart.

When I retired from Richmond County and joined RCREA, the retired teachers association, Marguerite was a pillar of the group. As I served on the executive board, then as RCREA president, I learned to depend on Marguerites guidance and experience. When she spoke, I listened. She might disagree with you but she never held a grudge. She was often a voice of reason and was a faithful member of RCREA until her health declined. A true Southern lady!
