AIKEN, S.C. - Michael Jon Patek, 50, of Harrow Circle, died Wednesday, December 1, 2004 at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston following an extended illness. A memorial service will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home, with Rev. Richard Swift officiating. Interment will be private. A native of Claridge, PA, he was a son of the late Frank and Estelle Lacina Patek. He was employed by Westinghouse Savannah River Co. Michael's bravery, indomitable will and positive outlook during his illness have been an inspiration to all who knew or met him along the way, including his many medical attendants. He will be greatly missed by his loving and devoted wife, Debra, his loving daughter Kristin, and his much-loved pets, Dixon and Max, as well as the following members of his family; sister, Beverlie Hunter and her husband, Al of Aiken, SC; sister, Joanne Grove and husband, Jim of Claridge, PA; brother, Fra nk Patek and wife, Rose of Export, PA; sister, Patricia and husband, Paul of Jeannette, PA and sister, Charlotte (Faye) of Columbus, GA. He will also be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews, Matthew and Kristi Hunter and sons, Nicholas and Zachary, Jennifer and David Duralia, Frank Patek, Jr., Susan and Tom Lippincott and sons, Chad and Adam, Holly and John Pacelli and son, Brendan and daughter, Marissa, Paulette and Dennis Pipher and daughter, Isabelle, Kim and Randy Bair and daughter, Erin and son Evan and Blake and Amy Burger and daughter, Olivia. The family invites friends to an informal celebration of Michael's life between 3 and 6 PM Sunday following the memorial service at the home of Beverlie and Al Hunter, 122 Laurel Oak Dr. (Woodside Plantation), Aiken.
